Hands @ Work Africa

The Masoyi area, in the South African province of Mpumalanga, just south of the border with Mozambique, is home to more than 200,000 black Africans--most of whom live in devastating poverty. Unemployment stands at nearly 75% and the rate of HIV infection at around 32%. The Masoyi Home Based Care project, a Christian ministry led by George and Carolyn Snyman, trains and coordinates volunteers to care for those who are sick and dying, as well as to identify vulnerable elderly people, children and orphans who need support. The success of HBC led to approaches from other African countries, and Hands @ Work Africa, a registered non-government organisation, was formed to duplicate the Masoyi program in other areas. Today H @ W operates in Zambia and Mozambique as well as South Africa, and has achieved recognition internationally. Through H @ W we support schools in Zambia and orphans in Masoyi, and our missions teams work with H @ W on their Africa trips. The H @ W website includes downloadable documents that outline the extent of the need and how it is being addressed. There are also photos of the various ministry arms.

Caminul Felix, Romania

With two family villages in western Romania, Caminul Felix has been nurturing the physical, spiritual, emotional and socio-economic needs of the orphaned and abandoned children of Romania since 1990.

Caminul Felix is an independent, Christian organization with ties in Australia, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom and the United States. New Horizons  supports Lars Hornberg, founder of Caminul Felix, through AOG World Missions. New Horizons  missions teams have visited Romania, and we have been blessed by a visit to Australia by Ghita Tiplea and a small team from Caminul Felix.

Steve Parker, Southern Africa

We have close ties with Australian Steve Parker, and support him through AOGWM. Steve is based in northern South Africa, but the itinerant ministry takes in Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe as well as South Africa. Steve’s work includes teaching and equipping the pastors of African churches.
